Some freedoms I have taken for granted: being able to marry my husband (something that would not have been legal before Loving v. Virginia); having the ability to pursue fertility treatments (although IUI did not work for us, I feel certain we conceived because of the vitamins and lifestyle changes my husband implemented while we were in treatment since his sperm analysis went from a little below average to good in a matter of months); having affordable childcare through getting discounted childcare because of working in a preschool where I was able to work and bring my daughter with me (I have worked there since shortly before I found out I was pregnant with her and she has attended school with me since February of 2020- she will start kindergarten and a new school in August 2025).
Great episode, Julia! These are such important conversations to have. We are living through scary times. Thank you for bringing this to the attention of your listeners! I am sending you all the baby dust. 🪄
